What Happens in Vegas Stays in Vegas – Not When the Nymi Band Is at a Hackathon

Our Nymi platform team was at the AT&T Developer Summit this past weekend, to evangelize the platform and the capabilities of the Nymi Band to a host of developers that came from across the globe to hack the latest technology.  This as my first Developer event since recently joining the Nymi team, and I couldn't wait to see what kind of response we would get!

Fittingly, we got the theatre bar as the spot to set up our makeshift booth. We laid out Nymi Band Discovery Kits, T-shirts (100 set out- though they were gone within an hour), stickers, key-chains, and adorned the bar with Nymi logos.  As we had only a limited number Nymi Band Discovery Kits on hand, we asked teams to review the Beta SDK and architecture first before handing them out.

The response was incredible! We had droves of developers and tech enthusiasts come by to better understand the capabilities of the Nymi Band, the offerings of the Beta SDK, API details, supported platforms, design of the Nymi Band, how it operates, and pricing details. Balaji, our Director of Platform, also gave a presentation on the Nymi Band as part of an Enterprise Wearables track session in cooperation with Ericsson, who sponsored a dedicated prize for this category.

As an example of the innovation created at the event, one of the participant teams sought to address the problem firefighters have when trying to incorporate digital technology in response scenarios while wearing gloves.  The wireless, secure integration capabilities of the Nymi Band provided the answer.  They were just one of the many teams that explored how Persistent Identity, powered by Nymi, can positively transform experiences - at work, in cars, at home, between people and across businesses.  The powerful AT&T APIs for messaging, content and communications atop of mobile and web platforms provided perfectly paired inspiration.

For much of the evening on Saturday and Sunday we were busy supporting the teams with API-related questions, leading to plenty of valuable feedback on the Beta SDK and its associated documentation, sample code, etc.

This sort of repetitive, iterative feedback on our offering is critical to ensuring that we continue to focus, prioritize and improve our developer tools to make adding Persistent Identity easier for all kinds of Developers.  We're just getting started!

If you have any feedback or questions about our Beta SDK or developing for the Nymi Band Discovery Kit, we’d love to hear from you! Reach out on Twitter (@NymiDev), Email (dev@nymi.com) or join our forums (dev.nymi.com)!
