What’s New at Nymi: June Update

Posted by partclay on Jun 20, 2016 10:30:00 AM

As we finish off the first half of the 2016 calendar year, we’re excited to share with you some updates, including new device unlock capabilities of the Nymi Band, and a recap of the Cloud Identity Summit (CIS).

Windows Hello and The Nymi band

Earlier in June, Microsoft announced that with Windows 10 will soon allow you to sign in to your PC using companion devices that can act as authenticators. We are happy to announce that the Nymi Band is one of those devices. Later this year, the Nymi Band will have the ability to unlock any Windows 10 PC through Windows Hello, simply by double-tapping the band. This will be achieved using Nymi’s persistent authentication protocol, and the device’s strong, biometric authentication technology.

Nymi at CIS

We recently attended CIS, whereby we revealed the first demo of how the Nymi Band can unlock a PC using Windows Hello. CIS also paved the way for other important announcements in the identity space. Specifically, the Identity Defined Security Alliance introduced a brand new identity integration framework, and Google shared some exciting new updates to its Google Enterprise Security products. Our Founder and CTO, Karl Martin, also spoke to the audience about authentication in the IoT.

It’s shaping up to be a great second half of the year for Nymi, with many announcements still to come. Follow us on your favourite channels, and subscribe to our newsletter for the latest updates.
